Every two to three centuries the Marshmallow Mountains have erupted and laid waste to the nearby land. Sapphire Town is a huge city that had to be fully rebuilt after the previous rush of Lava Mallow poured in destroying all of the infrastructure.
Luckily the mountains seemed to have died down in recent times.
